Hada Labo, which is translated as “Skin Lab”, is a technologically advanced Japanese skincare line that was developed and created by the Rohto research center in Japan. Since its debut in 2004, the brand’s popularity has steadily increased throughout the world including the United States. The brand is well-known for its products containing hyaluronic acid and the Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing cream which was one of the top skincare products sold in Japan for seven consecutive years.
Hada Labo Skincare products include cleanser lotions, cleansers, and moisturizers, and eye creams and serums, masks mists, and many more.
Then, let’s get to the subject: is Hada Labo cruelty-free? The answer is:
No, Hada Labo isn’t animal-free.
In order to be cruelty-free, brands:
Cannot test their final products or ingredients with animals.
It is imperative to ensure that their suppliers do not test on animals.
Cannot allow third-parties for testing their product on animals.
Cannot sell their goods in shops in mainland China or in other countries where testing on animals is legally required.
Hada Labo does not have an official testing animal policy.
But, in my research, I have found that they’re available in retail stores across mainland China where testing on animals is still required by law.
Making sales in China is against one of the rules for brands that are cruelty-free.
Because Hada Labo does sell their products in mainland China the products they sell could be subject to testing on animals in China.
